Annotation in original language:	Considering the role of the gender factor in mass media language, the study concentrates on two lifestyle magazines for men and women - Cosmopolitan and Men´s Health. It ries to reveal similarities and differences in the text types and genres employed and compare the persuasive communication strategies aimed at male and female target readers respectively. In spite of certain correspondence the magazines are characterized by strikingly different approaches to their readers, namely in the ways they try to win reader´s confidence and in overall atmosphere of the men´s and women´s world they strive to represent and spread.
