Biografický slovník Slezska a severní Moravy, nová řada 9. (21.). Ostrava 2006, 168 str. Kolektivní dílo odborníků z různých vědeckých oborů, vydané Filozofickou fakultou a Ústavem pro regionální studia Ostravské univerzity, přináší 99 biogramů, zachycujících osudy 205 osobností spjatých s vymezenou oblastí svým původem či působením. Jde o slovník připravovaný tzv. holandskou metodou, zahrnující významné osobnosti ze všech oblastí společenského dění. Vzhledem ke specifickému charakteru regionu zahrnuje slovník i reprezentanty minorit (německá, polská, židovská), uvádí rovněž kolektivní biogramy podnikatelských a šlechtických rodů. V závěru je publikován souhrnný rejstřík pro 1.-9. sešit nové řady.

Published by the Faculty of Arts and the Institute for Regional Studies at the University of Ostrava, and written by experts from various scientific fields, the lexicon features 99 biogrammes depicting the lives of 205 significant personalities who had ties to the region through their origin or activities. The lexicon was compiled on the basis of the Dutch method to include profiles of significant personalities from all areas of social life. With regard to the specifics of the region, the lexicon also includes representatives of ethnic minorities (German, Polish, Jewish) and furthermore, it provides collective biogrammes of enterpreneurship and aristocracy lineages. At the end of the publication find a cummulative index for the issues 1 to 9 of the new series.
