Popis v původním jazyce:
Modern fluvial-geomorphological research brings new important data for optimal water stream management. Contemporary state of stream management derives from the Water Law (254/2001 of the Collection of Law). Limits also result from the Law of Nature and Landscape Protection (114/1992 of the Collection of Law) and the Law of Land Planning and Building Regulations (183/2006 of the Collection of Law). There are two parallel approaches in the Czech Republic influencing the character of water streams as significant landscape components. The first approach is represented by stream regulations applied by water managers involving generally purely technical modifications of river beds and surrounding floodplain, the purpose of which is flood protection. The other approach is based on the Program of River System Revitalization (PWSR) aiming at the restoration of natural environment and resources utilized by man.
