Annotation in original language:
This partial study presents a short introduction into the sources dealingwith the topic of the library of the Sedlec monastery near Kutná Hora. Thestudy focuses mainly on the late seventeenth-century catalogue in VI F 32manuscript from the Library of the National Museum, which bears the title Libri veteres MS [manuscripti] Monasterii Sedlecensis and the question ofwhat this modern catalogue is able to tell us about the history of the medievallibrary. The first part of this paper consists of a short summary of the currentpreservation and its cause. The following segment of the article summarizeshistory of the Sedlec library in the Middle Ages and in the Early Modern period. The first half of the 16th century was chosen as a natural conclusion ofthis chapter, as it is the time when the monks brought the monastery libraryback to Sedlec from their exile abroad. The last part of the study presents thecatalogue in the KNM VI F 32 manuscript, which contains only manuscriptsdating from the 14th to early 16th century. A comparison of the contents ofone of the manuscripts in the catalogue with Osek 47 manuscript from theNational Library serves as an example of the kind of sources the author ofthe catalogue worked with. As a result, the catalogue in KNM VI F 32 servesas an important source for history of the Sedlec library and its manuscripts. It is uncertain whether more of them can be discovered and attributed to theSedlec library, but the information concerning the manuscripts of the libraryin the KNM VI F 32 catalogue provides a large amount of information that thescribe of the catalogue drew from the manuscript colophons.
