Artykuł jest próbą rekonstrukcji językowego obrazu dziecka w polskiej frazeologii. Przykłady jednostek frazeologicznych zostały wybrane z różnych polskich słowników frazeologicznych. Dziecko w polskiej frazeologii pojawia się bardzo często. Jest to ważny okres w rozwoju człowieka. Z tego powodu leksem ten, a więc przedmiot obiektywnej rzeczywistości, pojawia się w odniesieniu do wszystkich okresów życia człowieka. do wszystkich okresów życia człowieka. Co więcej, nabiera on różnych wartości aksjologicznych, w zależności od wieku i zachowania „małego człowieka”, systemu wartości danej grupy społecznej, a także cech dorosłego człowieka (np. charakterystyki dorosłego (np. jego oczekiwań i reakcji na zaistniałe zdarzenia). Frazeologia dotycząca dzieci jest głęboko zakorzeniona w polskiej tradycji. Konceptualizacja dziecka w wybranych jednostkach frazeologicznych jest interesująca i zróżnicowana na przestrzeni wieków. W wybranym materiale można dostrzec zmianę mentalności ludzi w postrzeganiu dzieci na przestrzeni dekad. Zebrane słownictwo ukazuje hierarchię wartości i mentalność ludzi w sposobie postrzegania najmłodszych członków rodzin.

The article is an attempt to reconstruct the linguistic image of the child in Polish phraseology. Examples of phraseological units were selected from various Polish phraseological dictionaries. A child appears very often in Polish phraseology. This is an important period in human development. For this reason, this lexeme, and therefore this object of objective reality, appears in relation to all periods of human life. Moreover, it acquires different axiological values, depending on the age and behavior of the “little person”, the value system of a given social group, as well as the characteristics of an adult (e.g. his expectations and reactions to occurring events). The phraseology regarding children is deeply rooted in the Polish tradition. The conceptualization of the child in selected phraseological units is interesting and varies over the centuries. In the selected material one can see a change in people’s mentality in perceiving children over the decades. The collected vocabulary shows the hierarchy of values and the mentality of people in the way they perceive the youngest members of families.
