The introductory study to the critical catalog focuses on the history of the Liechtenstein family in the Bohemian lands with a focus on Upper Silesia, or the Opava and Krnov regions. Chronologically covers the period from the 17th to the 20th century. It notes the ties of the princes of Liechtenstein to the region, maps their activities, introduces the main personalities, points out the preserved monuments.
