Úspěch snah o pobělohorskou rekatolizaci Valašska byl podmíněn vytvořením fungujícího institucionálního rámce náboženského života místních obyvatel, který představovala farní organizace. Analýza situace v děkanátech Valašské Meziříčí a Vizovice, do kterých náležela největší část sledovaného regionu, ukázala, že proces obnovy farní sítě zde probíhal ještě v 18. století a ani na sklonku vlády Marie Terezie nebyl završen. Jednotlivé farnosti se sice navzájem lišily svým rozsahem a lidnatostí, přesto lze souhrnně říci, že Valašsko se v rámci olomoucké diecéze řadilo mezi oblasti s nejrozsáhlejšími farními obvody, a tedy i nejméně dostupnou duchovní správou. Proces zahušťování farní sítě přitom narážel zejména na ekonomické potíže i na další strukturálně podmíněné problémy. Důsledkem bylo, že ani během půldruhého století trvání pobělohorské rekatolizace se nepodařilo završit úsilí o vybudování dostatečně husté a fungující sítě farností, jež by pomohla obyvatele Valašska plně integrovat do katolické církve. Teprve josefínské reformy přinesly zásadní reorganizaci farní správy, přinesly však také definitivní konec rekatolizace.

The success of the post-White-Mountain re-Catholicization of Wallachia was conditioned by the creation of a functioning institutional framework for the religious life of the local population, represented by parish organizations. The analysis of the situation in the deaneries of Valašské Meziříčí and Vizovice, which included the largest part of the region, showed that the process of parish network renewal was still underway in the 18th century and was not completed even by the end of Maria Theresa´s reign. Although individual parishes differed in size and population, it can be said that Wallachia was one of the areas with the largest parish districts in the Olomouc diocese and therefore with the least accessible spiritual administration. The process of thickening the parish network encountered mainly economic difficulties and other structurally conditioned problems. The consequence was that even during the century and a half of post-White-Mountain re-Catholicization, efforts to build a sufficiently dense and functioning network of parishes that would help to fully integrate the inhabitants of Wallachia into the Catholic Church could not be completed. The Josephine reforms brought a fundamental reorganisation of parish administration, but they also brought a definitive end to re-Catholicization.
