This paper deals with the development of a mapping system with the ability to detect objects in space, which it is then able to record in a dynamic map. The mapping is implemented using a lidar. The ROS platform was used for the development, where algorithms for SLAM and object detection in images are suitably chosen. The experimental part was carried out using a wifibot. The output of this work provides insight into the limits and capabilities of a wifibot in scanning the environment in 2D. The resulting application is used in robotics seminars at the University of Ostrava.
