В главе рассматривается русское и чешское понимание функциональных частей речи. Были представлены идеи и мнения шести российских и четырех чешских лингвистов. Русские лингвисты разошлись во мнениях относительно того, какие части речи попадают в эту категорию. Chapter discussed the Russian and Czech understanding of functional parts of speech. The ideas and opinions of six Russian linguists and four Czech linguists were presented. Russian linguists are more divided on which parts of speech fall into this category. Czech linguists agree that functional parts of speech include prepositions, conjunctions, and particles. Unlike Russian linguists, they also use different termino-logy, they use the terms “synsémantický, synsémantika”. In addition to different parts of speech, the opinions of Czech and Russian linguists coincide.
