The degree of risk of falling ill with malignant tumours and lung cancer was monitored in the sample of 7.774 ex-miners working underground in black-coal mines of the Ostrava-Karviná Region (OKR).Relative risk of incidence of malignant tumorous diseases in miners in comparison to general population is not significantly higher. Incidence of the lung cancer significantly increases with age.
