Hlavní část tvorby Václava Rodka je klasická malba pracující s fenoménem barvy, kompozicí a prostorem obrazového plánu. Téma jednotlivých obrazů a sérii obrazů mají vazbu na neverbální i verbální prostředky tvorby. Zabývá se narativním příběhem a jeho transpozicí, kontextualizaci i recyklací. Důležitým prvkem je abstrahování malířského gesta a pojímaní abstrakce jako rovnocenné vyjadřovací metody v obraze. Mezi těmito fenomény často osciluje, což vede k vytváření vlastní malířské filozofie. Klasickou malbu často obohacuje netradičními materiály, které ve své vazbě s „malovaným“, nesou požadovanou informaci. Ta je polarizovaná mezi odkazovou rovinu materiálu a jeho estetickou hodnotou. Často jsou autorem do obrazů vkomponovány například dřevěné dýhy, syntetické náhražky dřevěné struktury, napouštěcí mořidla, laky, oleje vosky. Výsledná kompilace se stává obrazovým hybridem. Téma obrazů je vyjádřeno jak klasickými obrazovými schématy, tak používám juxtapozičních, postprodukčních, re-interpretačních konstrukcí. Obsah je kódován myšlenkovými smyčkami do novotvarů odkazující na předešlé realizace. V obrazovém rhizomu vznikají jak série obrazů, tak sériově nevázané realizace. Obrazy výstavy Černoduše vycházejí z jedné z reinterpretačních smyček. Obraz s názvem kódovaným chronologickým a množstevním údajem 1212 VII byl silně poškozen při skladování. Při přípravě předešlé výstavy byl obraz autorem vybrán k přemalbě a recyklaci tématu. Svým napětím původní realizace ztělesňoval něco tak silně lidem vrozeného, že na jeho základě vznikla celá nová obrazová řada.

The main part of Václav Rodek's work is classical painting working with the phenomenon of colour, composition and space of the picture plan. The theme of individual paintings and the series of paintings have a connection to non-verbal and verbal means of creation. He deals with narrative story and its transposition, contextualisation and recycling. An important element is the abstraction of the painter's gesture and the conception of abstraction as an equivalent expression method in the painting. He often oscillates between these phenomena, which leads to the creation of his own painterly philosophy. He often enriches classical painting with non-traditional materials, which in their connection with the "painted" bear the required information. This is polarised between the reference plane of the material and its aesthetic value. Often the artist's paintings include, for example, wood veneers, synthetic substitutes of wood structure, watering stains, varnishes, oils waxes. The resulting compilation becomes a pictorial hybrid. The theme of the paintings is expressed both by classical pictorial schemes and by using juxtapositive, post-production, re-interpretative constructions. The content is encoded by thought loops into neoplasms referring to previous realisations. In the pictorial rhizome, both series of paintings and serially unbound realisations are created. The paintings of the exhibition Černoduše are based on one of the reinterpretation loops. The painting with the title coded by the chronological and quantitative data 1212 VII was heavily damaged during storage. In the preparation of the previous exhibition, the painting was chosen by the artist for the repainting and recycling of the theme. By its tension of the original realisation, it embodied something so strongly innate to people that a whole new pictorial series was created on its basis.
