Prostřednictvím příspěvku, který je zpracován v kontextu dobré praxe sociální pedagogiky, bych chtěla poukázat na zvláštnosti terapeutické práce s dětmi a mládeží, kteří jsou ohroženi sociálním selháním. Konkrétně se budu věnovat průběhu a metodám terapeutické práce, a zaměřím se rovněž na přínosy a limity terapeutického procesu u jedinců s rizikovým chováním. Výchozím bodem pro terapeutickou práci s rizikovými jedinci je porozumění, že specifické projevy v oblasti uvažování, chování i prožívání jsou důsledkem kumulovaných zátěžových, případně traumatických událostí v jejich životě. Terapeutický přístup by měl umožnit jedinci se ukotvit ve svém životě prostřednictvím autentického a bezpečného vztahu mezi ním a terapeutem. Terapeut je v tomto nesnadném procesu průvodcem dítěte (respektive mladého člověka) na jeho cestě. Nabízí mu přijetí se vším, co k němu patří; ukazuje mu odlišné varianty reakcí, než na jaké je zvyklé; pokouší se zesílit jeho hlas v různých sociálních prostředích; a především se zaměřuje na posílení jeho vlastní sebehodnoty.

Through this contribution, compiled in the context of good practice of social pedagogy, I want to point out the peculiarities of therapeutic work with children and youth at risk of social failure. I will primarily focus on the process and methods of therapeutic work as well as on the benefits and limits of the therapeutic process for individuals with risky behavior. The starting point for therapeutic work with individuals at-risk is the understanding that specific manifestations in the area of thinking, behavior, and experience are the result of cumulative stressful or traumatic events in their lives. The therapeutic approach should help the individuals to anchor themselves in their lives through an authentic and secure relationship between them and the therapist. The therapist is the child's (or young person's) guide in this demanding process. The therapist offers him acceptance with all that belongs to that, showing him different variants of reactions than he was used to, tries to amplify his voice in various social settings, and above all, focuses on strengthening his awareness of his worth
