Stať komparuje vývoj ekologických zátěží ostravského regionu v obodobí 1990-2000 s hospodářským vývojem regionu, zejména s jeho agregovaným ukazatelem RHDP.

The autor introduces the City of Ostrava region as model examples for solving some of the problems given above. He deals with the problem of the old ecological burdens.After defining the region involved, he describes individual geoecological features of the pilot area and classifies also negative impacts which influence them. Further on, both qualitative and quantitative analyses of these features are evaluated for the period of years 1990-2000. After applications a new metod of stating the course of GDP, the comparison of the both trens is incluted. The new contribution is in the stating and quantification of significant restrukturalisation effects.
